Improvements to FrequencySeries plotting defaults

This PR makes a couple of improvements to vanilla plotting of FrequencySeries

  • set the subplot_params for an 8x6 figure
  • use minor grid lines for log axes

Also, I re-wrote the hoff.py example to use GW150914 open data.
